But in truth....

"Video games giant Electronic Arts Inc. said Thursday it would buy BioWare Corp. and Pandemic Studios for up to $860 million, a sum that's considered among the highest ever paid to acquire independent game developers."

No they did not.... their support for CnC 3 is horrible. So many problems with sound playback during videos... endless threads about it but no fix. Anyway... Bioware is one above all my fav game dev company. This is the first I hear about it and I am upset now... I actually had a good day today until now.

That single issue nearly destroyed any enjoyment I got out the game's campaign. It saddens me that such a silly issue wasn't resolved, yet.

I lament the loss of Bioware's independence...kharma strikes again, Bungie wrangles free of Microsoft and Bioware is swallowed by EA. Long live independence IC!

Offtopic, the company that developed Chaos League and Chaos League: Sudden Death, got in to an "arrangement*" with GamesWorkshop and are now developing Blood Bowl.

Cyanide Studio

First Look, Gamespot

* The arrangement likely involved not being sued, and in return saying yes to develop Blood Bowl instead of any future Chaos League games.
